2nd Annual Pizza Night at Flatbread Update

Thanks to everyone who made this fundraiser, held the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, a resounding success!  The Board and staff who attended last year’s Pizza Night were impressed that we even exceeded last year’s attendance. PCM raised over $790 dollars!

Special thanks to the students, faculty and staff that volunteered to perform.  Your were great!!  What better incentive to eat pizza than to hear the music that PCM helps to make possible.

This year’s raffle was a new addition that based on everyone’s response will be a part of next year’s Pizza Night at Flatbread.  Congratulations to this year’s raffle winners:

Ruth Glazer Scholarship Benefit

The Ruth Glazer Scholarship Fund supports talented students in lessons, classes, and summer camps at PCM. Signiciant artists come every year to perform for this scholarship fundraising concert. Pianist Duncan Cumming, whose playing has been described as “brilliant,” has performed concerts in cities across Europe and the United States. in 1994 he received a full scholarship from the European Mozart Foundation for study and performance at the European Mozart Academy. A member of the Capital Piano Trio, Dr. Cumming teaches at the University at Albany and the Tanglewood Institute, and frequently collaborates with the renowned pianist Frank Glazer.

Bowdoin Professor Emeritus Elliott Schwartz surveys the history of the piano from 18th century harpsichord to 21st century synthesizer in this series of four informal talks using live and recorded examples of music including Bach, Scarlatti, Mozart, Beethoven, 19th century Romantics, Debussy, Bartok and the 20th century avant-garde.
