About Noonday Concerts

Noonday Concerts began in the fall of 1996 as the inspiration of founder Ruth Glazer. These free concerts are presented every Thursday, during the noon hour, from October to April. From the very first concert, this collaboration of the First Parish in Portland and the Portland Conservatory of Music has enjoyed enthusiastic response from the community.

Noonday Concerts feature faculty members from the Portland Conservatory of Music, organists from the area and guest artists. There are soloists, chamber ensembles, choral groups and jazz musicians included in the Noonday Concert series. Audience members are professionals, students, seniors, residents and visitors, each pausing for a break in the day's routine.

Noonday Concerts are made possible by the generosity of the artists and by the significant financial support of our corporate partners.

As we begin our fourteenth year of presenting free, quality concerts in the heart of Portland's business district, we thank you for being a spirited and responsive audience, and we hope you enjoy the Noonday Concerts.
