Violin Camp

Ages 5-10 | June 21 - June 25 | 10:00am - 3:30pm

Come join the fun! In this 5-day camp, we will learn a variety of songs, techniques, and how to play in an ensemble with one another. Music will range from classical to fiddle to rock & roll. Open to all students of suzuki and traditional methods.

Daily activities include:

  • Music games
  • Technique study
  • Theory instruction
  • Listening activities
  • Lunch (please bring your own)

Rock Camp

Ages 11-18 | June 28 - July 2 | 10:00am - 3:30pm

During this 5-day camp you will learn some of your favorite rock tunes. Learn to write your own songs. There will be a discussion of recording equipment and techniques. Work with professional musicians. Perform on stage with other camp rock bands.

Please bring your own lunch.

Fees: Member $320.00; Non-member $340.00.

Chamber Music Camp

Ages 12 & up | July 12 - July 16 | 10:00am - 3:30pm

Open to violin, viola, cello, woodwinds, and brass; advanced beginners and up. Play classical music from many periods and perform at the end of camp, on Friday afternoon.

Daily activities include:

  • Rehearsals
  • Music theory instruction and games
  • Ear training
  • Music history
  • Lunch (please bring your own)

Composition Camp

Ages 11 & up | July 19 - July 23 | 10:00am - 3:30pm

A 5-day course in learning how to develop your musical ideas and present them to other musicians. During the week, students will learn about some of the techniques and technology used to compose music. Additional activities include inventing your own instruments, and an end-of-week performance of your student work.

  • Improvisation
  • Learning musical techniques
  • Individual & group projects
  • Rehearsing and performing your music

World Music Camp

Ages 8-11 | July 26 - July 30 | 10:00am - 3:30pm

Be a world traveler as we explore 10 different countries through their music! By the end of the week, your passport will be full as we learn about these countries' musical traditions, native instruments, culture, and food. Each day we will create snacks from the countries we are exploring. In addition, we will be building and decorating our own instruments that you can take home. These four string cardboard models will be tunable, long-lasting, sturdy instruments. Students will be able to choose either a folk guitar or a dulcimer.

Daily activities include:

  • Building & decorating musical instruments
  • Snack (provided)
  • Exploring and participating in music of the world
  • Lunch (please bring your own)

Jazz & Rock Camp

Ages 12 & up | August 2 - August 6 | 10:00am - 3:30pm

During this 5 day camp you will learn jazz and rock tunes by artists like John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Nirvana, Radiohead and more. Learn to write your own songs. Work with professional musicians. Discussions about recording equipment and techniques. Perform with other camp bands.

Bassoon Camp

Ages 11 & up | August 16 - August 20 | 10:00am - 3:30pm

You will have fun and play with other bassoonists in this 5 day camp. Study reed making techniques, play in an ensemble, and get to know the bassoon literature.

  • Ensembles
  • Excerpts
  • Technical exercises
  • Lunch (please bring your own)
